NAYANA IZ  (IZ deriving from ’Nayana’ meaning ‘Eyes’ in Hindi) is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and rapper based in London.

 

Not only is Nayana a successful solo artist, gaining millions of streams on singles such us "TNT" and "GROWING PAINS",  she is also main collaborator for NiNE8's NO SMOKE VOL 1 and features across NO SMOKE VOL 2. NAYANA IZ additionally runs a monthly radio show on BALAMII called "MIXED FEELINGS".

Nayana has quoted to be influenced by the likes of “MF DOOM, ROY AYERS, TUPAC, ERYKAH BADU, N.E.R.D AND ESPERANZA SPALDING.“ IZ  has channeled her former years of dabbling as a jazz band singer at school to applying it within more experimental takes on HIP HOP, RNB, SOUL and more.

 

Nayana released her debut EP "SMOKE & FLY" in 2020 followed by acclaimed single "Partner In Crime" which gained widespread attention online after the song was platformed by Colors Berlin. She additionally co-wrote 2 singles with NiNE8 "Take Time" / "Praise" followed by 2021 single "COLD HANDS". Nayana went on to play a series on shows & festivals throughout 2021 coinciding with solo release "RANI" and has hinted towards another project drop in 2022.
